Looking for an informative guidebook for kayaking north of Comox. I have "BC Coast Explorer & Marine Trail Guide Vol 2: Vancouver Island South, Bamfield to Comox Harbour", but not sure which is the one to get for areas north of here (e.g. Quadra, Cortes, Broughton, Desolation Sound, etc). I think Kimantas does one for the north and west coast of Vancouver Island but not sure on northeast Van Isle and some coastal mainland areas. Thanks.

It makes good sense to check out all Kimantas' books and the atlases, but also the bcmarinetrail's website too.

The Wild Coast 3 covers that area and although some of the campsites indicated in that book are now off-limits (particularly in the desolation sound park) it remains an extraordinarily useful resource. Between that and the BCMTNA site, you have 90% of the information you’ll get from books.

Additional info may be found in trip reports, on this site, and with application of google-fu.

Grab what info you can from the BCMTN site, and soon.
Campsites are dropping from view, mostly due to 'cultural concern$'..
