Anyone been to Ross Lake (crosses Washington/Canada border) very recently. I understand they drain it at the end of the summer. It hardly feels like the end of the summer - what with triple digit days and such. But maybe they go by Calendar rather than thermometer. If I did it, I'd enter at the north end (have to go into Canada and back down to launch on NE US side), paddle south at early part of day and plan the return legs for the afternoon when I've read there is a reliable wind coming up from the south.
