NDK Explorer HV - CAD $1775
I am selling my NDK Explorer HV. This is a great boat - just a bit too big for me. I am 5'9" and weigh 168 lbs. The previous owner had the boat custom built with the front bulkhead enlarged to carry more gear. This let him put closed cell foam on the bulkhead in place of foot braces. I have added more foam to fit me, but foot pegs might be better for a shorter paddler. This Explorer has a foam seat which, while a bit worn, is extremely comfortable for all-day paddling. The boat is not new by any means and shows the usual signs of use. That said, it is in very good condition for its age and is dry. The bottom is in good shape and a keel strip has been added for extra protection. It comes with a Brunton deck mounted compass. The boat is equipped with a powerful bilge pump (and a brand new battery). A brand new Brooks neoprene sprayskirt can be purchased at a very reasonable price.

    From the NDK website:
    https://www.seakayakinguk.com/sea-kayak-range/explorer-hv

Designed for rough water and covering distances, the Explorer HV, an expedition kayak, is maneuverable, direction stable and can carry heavier loads. Designed to fit the large paddler. The volume in the cockpit has been increased by adding 1.5" (3,8 cm) of extra height between top of the seat and underside of the deck. Also, a raised area either side of the cockpit has been added to facilitate more leg room. The hull has not been altered.
The kayak has a low rear deck for easy rolling, a keyhole cockpit that gives excellent grip, control and allows quick exit if need be. The sloping bulkhead behind the seat allows the kayak to be emptied by lifting only the bow, no x-rescue is necessary.
An expedition kayak for the larger paddler, length: 533.5 cm, width: 56 cm, depth: 35 cm, overall volume: 319 litres, front hatch volume: 73 litres, cockpit volume: 152 litres, day hatch volume: 38 litres, rear hatch volume: 56 litres.
