Almost that time again.....
considering last year's snow, some may advocate late May over late April.
Well, this thread is hardly making it any easier for me to concentrate on not being out there paddling.
Those photos look amazing!
I'm all for that! I froze to death last year! Oh right, thanks for the reminder - I'd better get that underpad ordered for the Hennessy Hammock!
Bring warmer gear. I personally don't want to see this campout moved to May -- it's a Spring campout for the hardy paddlers that we all are. The initial idea of the paddle is to kick off the Spring camping season. Moving it later seems to be against the spirit of the trip. And who knows? We might not get any snow this year (consider the fabulous weather we had for the first two campouts).
I'm eager for April, also. The snow was highly unusual last year.
Not that it should scare the group away from this date, but I have a conflict April 24-26, unless the campout gets shifted to the Columbia River near Cathlamet (as if!).
April sounds good to me! May doesn't work as I'm going on a road trip....
I camped on the beach last weekend... No tent, no hammock... Toasty warm all night.
I like April as well.
so? what? bivvie bag?
Is the plan for the camping to be at Beaumont Marine Park ?
cool!! how 'bout a pic?
Works for me.
No that would be too easy for you  Oh wait a sec! That would mean we would have a local that could ferry as all to the nearest put in
Just kidding of course.... Have to watch out what I'm saying here otherwise they put me in lederhosen again....
I am for April as well. as I look back now to last years weather I am actually grateful for it ( wasn't thinking like this as I sat there keeping my fingers warm with my lighter  ) as it has become one of my most memorable paddles ( ok way more land time then on the water ) so far.
And same spot suits me fine ( the burgers over at the hotel where just dandy)
I prefer April.
Beaumont sounds good to me. I'm not done paddling there.
Didnt take any of the bivy
The nearest put-in being Poet's Cove, so you can all get in your kayaks and paddle for 5 minutes to get out and set up camp ?
That's about as far as Mr. Lederhosen paddled last year.
