I have heard that this campsite has a bear problem and is not safe due to fisherman cleaning their catch and leaving the waste behind on the beach. This is from last summer. Has anyone been there recently and have an update?
    Thanks

I also checked the gov. site and contacted West Coast Expeditions and and other people. WCE said they haven't visited since last summer and there was no problem then and haven't heard of any problems.
The bear warning comes third hand from someone who had camped there last summer and say they would not go back- no further details on what type of encounters they had except that three bears were scavenging for scraps. Unless new info. comes in we are still planning to camp there albeit with extra precautions, bear spray etc. since warnings about bears definitely gets ones attention.

Camped there with a friend last year. Saw one bear wandering around, we stayed out of each other’s way and all was good :)
