So, thoughts on the demise of Mountain Equipment Co-op?

The Co-op has long abandoned it's economic model and purposeful structure. Policies developed over the past ten to fifteen years for board elections changed the direction to one that no longer represented the original core values of the co-op. I think the nail in the coffin moment was when...

A Few Words About the Future of WestCoastPaddler

Seriously guys, the collection of money on a website (regardless of ad revenue or subscriptions via Patreon, PayPal, credit card, or otherwise is not a big deal. It's what accountants are for. Certainly not worth more posts in this discussion.

A Few Words About the Future of WestCoastPaddler

Whoa. Let's all take a few steps back here. First off, we need to be very clear that WestCoastPaddler has never been nor is it planned for in the future, to be a non-profit organization or company. It is and always has been, a 100% privately owned website. I have personally paid all costs...

A Few Words About the Future of WestCoastPaddler

What a boring world it would be without challenges. Maybe a solution can be found but I’m sure it won’t be easy. Added it to my list of things to do this weekend. Thanks.

It won't. This isn't our first forum upgrade. Just please be a bit patient -- we're all busy people and are doing our best with available time to get the little things on the site restored to the way they were before this upgrade. Give it a week or so. Thanks for your input, it's much...

My guess is that the upgrade changed a few settings back to the default. I'll be going through the site over the next week and will fix these little things that have been altered.

Inukshuk, Stone Stacking - universal issues

We were way ahead of the curve -- that discussion was 12 years ago. If I recall correctly, the discussion festered for a good while before becoming a heated discussion that went on for quite some time.

    Vickers Creek on Pitt Lake

Nothing of any type of traditional campsite that is kayak or canoe accessible but if you needed to, you could set up a tent for the night at the end of the road.

    Vickers Creek on Pitt Lake

I don't know, Mick. While the delta is fairly big, it's not huge -- and there's a lot of debris strewn along it. Most of the delta has been shaped by the river in such a way that there are very few flat locations and it's rather hit and miss at the best of times for tent spots. Probably not much...

    Vickers Creek on Pitt Lake

Not the roomiest place to camp as there are tons of logs on the beach but usually there's a spot for one or two tents at each end. I've occasionally seen people camping at a couple spots up along the creek bed. I suspect you're correct at the moment regarding flooding but it might be...
