Story from the rescuer from a group of kayakers of an incident where one canoeist from a group of canoeists died, but others were rescued.

It is a sobering read. There are a lot of very thoughtful comments as well, below the post about the rescues.
As I read of Glenn Wallace's very competent (almost heroic) rescue work, I was wondering if I would have been as capable, and the answer was humbling: "Very probably not".
Food for thought, for sure.
 
Thanks for the link, always important to remember to know your abilities and live within them. A lot of preparedness and experience involved in this rescue that few could reproduce.
